Lee "Dick" Lawson, Jr., 89, of 1071 Clark Road, Inman, SC, went to be with his wife in Heaven on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Southern Oaks Assisted Living in Greenville, SC. "Dick" was born in Laurens, SC on March 12, 1927, a son of the late Lee and Dora Belle (Knight) Lawson. He was the widower of Lois "Poochie" Inez (Brannon) Lawson. He retired from Springs Industries and was a Army veteran of WWII. He leaves behind three adult children whom he helped raise, Joe Barnett, of Inman; Bill Barnett, of Greer; Gene Barnett, of Clinton, SC; a sister, Robbie Johnson, of Spartanburg, two grandchildren: Katey Barnett and Gabriel Barnett, two great grandchildren: Kaleb Thompson and Shayla Williams. The family will receive friends Thursday 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC, at 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 29, 2016 with Rev Joe Geddes officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 250 Commonwealth Drive #105, Greenville, SC 29615. He is now in a better home with his mother, dad, brothers and sisters. He lived his life to the fullest and was a great father to three young boys.
