Laura Christine Rice, 84, of 916 Wesley Court, Boiling Springs, and formerly of Oaktree Road in Whitney, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Laura was born in Whitney on June 16, 1937, a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Greer and Estelle Hammett Greer. She was the widow of Joe Howard Rice after having celebrated 54 years of marriage. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by a son, Jefferson Howard Rice.

She was a member of Temple Independent Methodist Church in Spartanburg, and retired from retail sales at Westgate Mall in Spartanburg.

Survivors include a sister, Lois Caldwell of Boiling Springs; her best friend of 64 years, Vivian Christmas of Boiling Springs, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 13th at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg conducted by Rev. Mark Lawing. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
