Larry Richard Ballenger, 66, of Inman, passed away Monday, April 7th, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Spartanburg, SC on December 7, 1947, a son of the late Betty (Hayes) and Algie Ballenger and was the husband of Joan (Wilson) Ballenger of the home.
He retired as store manager at Family Dollar Stores and had faithfully served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Tony Bishop of Hendersonville, NC and Richard Bilodeau, three daughters; Laura Biskaduros of Mass., Wendy Ballenger of MO., Chrissy Ferguson of Mauldin, and a sister; Donna Gibbs of Spartanburg.
A service with Military Honors will be held at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery, Anderson, S.C., at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 11th, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association 364 S. Pine St. Suite B 155 Spartanburg, SC 29301 or National Kidney Foundation 500 Taylor St. Suite 101 Columbia, SC 29201-3000.
