Kenneth Harold Sellars, 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 15, 2021. Born on August 12, 1950, he was the son of the late Harold and Annie Mary Sellars. He was predeceased by his only brother, Jerry Sellars. Ken was adored by his family, and was the ultimate Godly leader for them. He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, Judy Lewis Sellars, his son and best friend, Jeffrey Kenneth Sellars (Gina), his daughter who considered him her hero and larger than life, Dr. Jill Sellars Morris, and a son in law he absolutely adored, Christopher Joel Morris. Mr. Sellars was most proud of his grandchildren, Savannah Marie Griffith (Phillip), Kendall Jeffrey Sellars, Gracen Kate Morris, Reagan Gabrielle Morris and Christopher Dylan Morris (Eva). Mr. Sellars had two great granddaughters, Magnolia June Griffith and Harper Grace Morris. He lit up when they walked in a room and thought they did no wrong.
Ken retired from Invista after almost 50 years. He was a hard worker, a man of integrity and strength. He never met a stranger and could always make you laugh. Other than spending time with his family, his favorite pastime was traveling, especially to Ponce Inlet, Florida and North Myrtle Beach. He was most content sitting under an umbrella on the beach listening to the oldies.
Mr. Sellars was of the Baptist faith and a devoted member of Mount Zion Baptist Church for over 40 years. He served on the deacon board and was a member of the Ambassadors for Christ Sunday School Class. He loved his church family and set an example for everyone to always put God first. He was the anchor of his family and will be missed immensely.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mount Zion Baptist Church, 842 Mount Zion Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
