Kenneth Dillard Avinger, Jr.
Kenneth Dillard Avinger, Jr., 76, of 784 Apple Orchard Road, Inman, SC, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Kenneth was born in Mobile, Alabama on July 7, 1944, a son of the late Lenora (Webster) Avinger and Kenneth Dillard Avinger, Sr. He retired from Hardee's Food Systems (Denny's) and was a member of Central Church of Christ in Spartanburg, SC .
Kenneth is survived by his companion, Sharon Hurst , of the home, two sons, Thomas Avinger (Sonya), of Inman, SC; Rick Avinger (Zelda), of Florida; a step daughter, Gina Lawson, of Inman, SC; two step sons, Michael Treadway, of Inman, SC; Chad Treadway, of Campobello, SC; three sisters, Cecile Robertson, of St. Elmo, AL, Sherry Mathers (Phillip), of Mobile, AL; Tracey Hammack (Brian), of Fowl River, AL; two brothers, Kyle Avinger (BJ), of Mobile, AL; Keith Avinger, of California,15 grandchildren, Eilen Avinger, Tiffany Avinger, Kayla Avinger, Elizabeth Lawson, Lyla Treadway, Cayden Treadway, Bradley Avinger, Kristen Avinger, Damian Avinger, Quinton Avinger, Taylor Farmer, William Treadway, Chloe Treadway, Miley Treadway,Colby Treadway, and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Tim Avinger, a brother, Kevin Avinger, and a sister, Carol Ashburn.
He served over 17 years in the U.S. Navy.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 23rd at Seawright Funeral Chapel in Inman, SC with Rev Ernie Thigpen officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Church of Christ, 2052 N. Church St. Place, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
