Kelli E Curran

May 13, 1969 — October 25, 2020

"A loving soul who welcomed everyone into her world" -- that's how her sisters, Danielle and Cindy Curran, remember her; "My wild child who became a friend" said her mother, Trish Curran; "such a vibrant light" and "a truly wonderful person" recall her friends. On October 25, 2020, beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Kelli Eileen Curran was needlessly taken from this world at the hands of an as yet unknown assailant for unknown reasons. A proud and outspoken survivor of domestic violence until a violent act of another type cut her life short, Kelli was dedicated to the mental health of others. A calling she found later in life after a career as an insurance account executive, first with O'Gorman and Young in NJ, and then with Wells Fargo in New Jersey and New York City, Kelli joined the staff at Mission hospital in Asheville, NC as a Mental Health Technician after earning her certification. Born in Newark, NJ on May 13, 1969, Kelli was a graduate of Montclair High School in Montclair, NJ and Berkeley College in West Paterson, NJ. A Jersey girl at heart, Kelli and her family relocated to the Carolinas to be closer to her mother after her father's passing. Kelli had a great love of animals. She was well known as a rescuer of strays of all types.

Kelli is predeceased by her father Jack Curran and beloved dog Madigan, and survived by her mother Trish Curran of Murphy,NC, her son Joseph Gentle of Kearny, NJ, her sisters, Cindy Curran of Sandy Springs GA, Danielle Curran of Murphy NC, her brother Sean Curran of Inman, SC, her nieces and nephews Corey Curran, Madeline Otte,Fayth Curran, Dylan Curran and Sadie Curran and numerous other extended family and friends.

At this time the family is holding a private memorial only. A celebration of her life is being planned and will be held in NJ in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you donate to the Kelli's Go Fund Me page.
