Kay Ballenger

Brenda Kay Ballenger, 71, of 294 Burnett Road, Inman, SC, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg.

Kay was born in Spartanburg, SC on April 16, 1954, a daughter of the late Nancy Eleanor (Abernathy) Wilds and Eulan Arbra Wilds.

She was the wife of Wayne Ballenger having celebrated 52 years of marriage. She retired from Mill Street Florist.

Kay was a member of Inman First Baptist Church where she was the childcare director for many years.

In addition to her husband, Kay is survived by a daughter, Ashley B. Rousseau and husband Jason, a son, Adam Ballenger and wife Lyndsey, four grandchildren, Banks and Butler Ballenger and Megan and Griffin Rousseau. She was predeceased by her grandson, Baylor Ballenger and her brother, Michael Wilds.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 6th at Seawright Funeral Chapel in Inman, SC with Dr. Paul Moore officiating. The family is at her home and will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
