Katherine Kitten West

May 13, 1926 — November 4, 2013

Inman, SC---Katherine "Kitten" Mahaffey West, 87, of 203 Vega St. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 4, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Mayo, SC on May 13, 1926, she was the daughter of the late James William Mahaffey and Lillie Ella (Arledge) Mahaffey and was the wife of the late Roy Lee West having celebrated 57 years of marriage before his passing in 2001.

Kitten was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church for over 40 years where she was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and also the Seasoned Saints. She worked in textiles as a spinner and was also a homemaker. One of her favorite things to do was travel.

Mrs. West is survived by two daughters, Joyce Bradley of Wellford, SC and Debbie Suddeth of Inman, SC; one sister, Josephine West of Inman, SC; 6 Grandchildren, Danny Bradley, Mark Bradley, Lee West, Mathew West, Tonya Hinson and Nicole Suddeth; 11 Great Grandchildren, Brandy Wilson, Allan Bradley, Alex Bradley, Austin Bradley, Kaylee West, Konner West, Sydney West, Riddick West, Jadyn Suddeth, Logan Hinson and Landon Hinson; 3 Great Great Grandchildren, Hayden Wilson, Hudson Wilson and Hayes Wilson. Also a very special friend, Miriam Hendrix and a very special niece Linda Skinner. In addition to her mother and father she was predeceased by one son, Mitchell (Pye) West and one great granddaughter, Chelsea West; three sisters, Ida Emory, Melba Burrell and Audrey Jackson and five brothers, Paul, Clyde, Walter, Howard and Dexter Mahaffey.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the First Freewill Baptist, 90 Blackstock Rd, Inman.

Funeral services will be held at the First Freewill Baptist Church at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2013 with Rev. Sean Fortner and Rev. Earl Hendrix officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Inman, SC. Serving as pallbearers will be Lee West, Mathew West, Mark Bradley, Danny Bradley, TJ Mahaffey and Ronnie Pack.
