Karen H. Clayton, 69, of Campobello, SC, passed away at home on June 9, 2023 after a long illness. 
Karen was born in Statesville, NC and grew up in Asheville, NC. She graduated from Asheville High School and attended Western Carolina University and later, Middle Tennessee State University. She worked in business and sales administration and management. She lived in Upstate SC for most of her life. 
Karen was a woman of deep faith and a member of the Shepherd's Chapel congregation. She loved home cooking, animals, flower gardening and was a gifted seamstress and avid cross-stitcher. She enjoyed road trips with her late husband John to Charleston, Tennessee, and the midwest. 
She is survived by her three children, April Johnston of Kailua Kona, HI, John Clayton,  II of Chesnee, SC, and Sarah Clayton of Campobello, SC, along with two stepchildren, Gina Clayton of Palm Harbor, FL, and Scott Clayton of Vale, NC.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John E. Clayton, her parents Chelsie R. Huffman and Janie English, and her brother, Wayne Huffman. 
A private memorial will be held at her home on July 15, 2023 and on July16,2023 in Murfreesboro TN.
