K. Glenn Lawson
OXFORD, GA-- K. Glenn Lawson, of Oxford, GA, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Newton Medical Center, at the age of 66. Son of the late Hubert Glenn and Lucille George Lawson, he had a Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC, and had worked for C. R. Bard for 29 years and was instrumental in the development of many medical products, including the synthetic polyisoprene Foley catheter for which he received a patent. Mr. Lawson was a member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church in Oxford, GA and enjoyed golfing and spending time outdoors. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Johnson Lawson of Oxford; sons and daughter-in-law, Ken and Cheryl Lawson of Oxford and Cory Lawson of Charleston, SC; granddaughter, Kristen Lawson of Oxford; sister, Gayle Hendrix of Inman, SC; nephews, Neil Hendrix and Vince Hendrix, both of Spartanburg, Alan Boykin of Greer, SC, Mark Johnson of Atlanta, GA; niece, Addie B. Smart of Greer, SC; great-nephews and niece, Madison Boykin, Bryson Boykin, and Gabriel Hendrix.
Funeral services for Mr. Lawson will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 4:00 PM, at the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, GA 30014, with Rev. Brian Dale officiating. Interment will be held on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, SC.
The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan on Sunday, March 14, 2010 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
