Wellford, SC--- June Rose Butters Nix, 87, of 209 Doris Ann Court , went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 8, 2017. June was born in Selma, Alabama on June 5, 1929 a daughter of the late Edward Mack Butters, Sr. and Lily Emma (Rutherford) Butters and was the wife of the late Mr. John Richard Nix having celebrated 42 years of marriage before his passing in 2014. Mrs. Nix was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she also served and was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class. Survivors include her children, Lynn Sims, Marilyn Wagner (Bill), Tony Haney (Deb), Michelle Bridges (Mike), Todd Haney (Shelley), Michael Haney (Anita) and John Serpas; one brother, Eddie Butters; one sister, Florence Fuller. Also 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and very special friends, Jim and Diane Hill. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one son-in-law, Mike Sims, and eight siblings, Yonnie Prince, Max Butters, James Butters, Tommy Butters, Dot Serpas, Johnnie Butters, Raymond Butters and Bobby Joe Butters. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church from 1:30 -3:00 PM. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. Rob Gouge officiating. Serving as Pallbearers will be Jeff Sims, Jonathan Sims, Kevin Sims, Joshua Sims, Bruce Bridges, Reese Bridges, Billy Bridges, Ryan Haney, Joshua Haney, McGuire Haney and Chase Haney.
