Mr. T. Julian Metcalf, 58, of 201 Canady Road, died Friday, June 17th, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mr. Metcalf was born in Spartanburg, SC on October 27, 1952, the son of Talmadge Hobert Metcalf of Wellford and the late Margaret Raines Metcalf. He was the husband of Beth (Donahoo) Metcalf and was a member of Holston Creek Baptist Church. He was very active in missions at home and abroad and served as founding member of Apostello Missions. He was also a member of the Carpenters For Christ. He worked for over 35 years for the Spartanburg County School Bus Maintainence Shop as parts manager.
Surviving in addition to his father and wife is a daughter, Keilah Nettles and her husband Robert of Greer, SC, a son, Micah Metcalf and his wife April of Savannah, Ga., a brother, Neal Metcalf of Wellford, SC, a sister, Maureen King and her husband Don of Spartanburg, SC , two grandchildren, Claire Metcalf and Will Nettles, his mother-in-law, Mrs. Eloise Donahoo, and sister-in-law, Susan High and her husband Ray of Inman. He was predeceased by a brother, Phillip Metcalf.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, 2011 at 4:30 PM at Seawright Funeral Chapel conducted by Dr. Bill Pate and Dr. Reggie Parker. The family will receive friends immmediately after the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Inman, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: the Apostello Missions Committee, Holston Creek Baptist Church, 311 Holston Creek Church Rd., Inman SC 29349. The family is at the home.
