Judy Paulette Murph Harper passed away Friday, January 6, 2023.

Born in Cowpens, South Carolina on January 25, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Gertrude (Bradley) Murph Smalley and Paul Edward Earl Murph.

Judy worked as a seamstress for over 30 years at Nancy Fashions, Butte Knit and Spartan Undies and retired after 18 years from the City of Spartanburg as a crossing guard for Houston Elementary School.  

She is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, John L. Harper; a son, Robin Dale Harper (Mary) of Inman, South Carolina;  a daughter, Teala H. Weathers (Mike) of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; special niece, Allison Ingle;  two sisters, Sharon Cockrell and Brenda Murph;  one brother, Bruce Murph, four grandsons, Clayton Ray Harper, Jesse Dale Harper, Jacob Lee Harper, Cody James Parrish and three great grandchildren, Grayson Alexander Harper, Everett John Harper and Paisley Rayne Harper and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son, Johnny Ray Harper and two brothers, Morris Murph and Paul E. Murph.  

The family will receive friends at Seawright Funeral Home on Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 1:00-1:45 PM.  A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Chapel with Rev.  Mark Lawing and Rev. Jesse Harper officiating.
