God wrapped his arms around Judy on Monday and held her till he took her home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

Judy Kay Duncan Smith, 70, of Boiling Springs, South Carolina was the wife of her high school sweetheart, Jimmy Smith.

She was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on February 3, 1955, a daughter of the late Nell (Bishop) Duncan and James Thomas "JT" Duncan.

She worked many years at Bommer Industries in Landrum, South Carolina and was a member of Dependent Baptist Church in Inman, South Carolina.

Judy was a tender-hearted person and would do anything for anyone.

In addition to her husband, she was also survived by her son, Michael Allen Poteat and his wife Wendy; two sisters, S. Elaine Duncan-Goodwin and Charlotte Hyder; one grandson, Michael Chandler Poteat and his wife Anna; one great grandchild, Sadie Kate Poteat; one niece, Katie Willingham and her husband Josh and two great nieces, Leia and Amelia.

The family will receive friends at Seawright Funeral Home on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 2:00-2:45.

Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Joe Geddes and Rev. John Hinkle officiating. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens in Boiling Springs, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Judy to the charity of one's choice.
