Inman, SC---Mrs. Judith Elaine Scruggs Cyr, 69, of 291 Woodfin Dr. died at home under Hospice Care after a 3 year battle with cancer on Monday, January 10th, 2011.
Born in Green Creek, NC on May 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Elsie Corrine (Shields) Scruggs and was the wife of Francis E. Cyr, Sr.
She was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church, a much loved mother, wife, Nana and a very special school teacher having taught more than 25 years primarily at Jessie Bobo Elementary School.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Michael James Reynolds and his wife Stephanie of Palmyra, VA; one daughter, Michelle Elaine McMahan and her husband Scott of Campobello, SC; one step-son, Francis Edward Cyr, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Green Creek, NC; one step-daughter, Tina Marie Cyr and her partner Heather Bhristell of Blue Ridge, SC; one brother, David Keith Scruggs and his wife Diane of Inman, SC; two sisters, Mary Ann Ostheim of Tryon, NC, Barbara Jean Scruggs of Cary, NC, a sister-in-law Brenda Brown Scruggs of Green Creek, NC; five grandchildren, Ashten McMahan, Chapin McMahan, Frances Reynolds, Katrina Cyr and fianc Seth Bailey, Sara Shytle and one great granddaughter Cadence Bailey. She was predeceased by a brother: Jack McArthur Scruggs.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday from 2-3PM at Walnut Hill Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will follow at Walnut Hill Baptist Church at 3:00 PM with Rev. Todd Johnson officiating.
