Joyce Simmons

Joyce Morris Gregory Simmons, 80, of Moore passed away on December 25, 2023, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born in Spartanburg, SC on June 16, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Iva Green Morris and Vance Morris and was the widow of Jesse Dean Simmons, Jr. She retired from the predecessor to Medical Group of the Carolinas – Family Medicine - Inman and was a member of Hub City Baptist Church. Joyce loved her church, spending time with her friends, being at the beach, and enjoying her grandchildren. She took great joy in giving to and helping others, in particular her church groups.

She is survived by three children, Wally Gregory of Fripp Island, SC, Brenda Simmons Beason and husband John of Crouse, NC, and Jesse Dean Simmons, III of Boiling Springs, SC; six grandchildren, Julia Ann and Tripp Gregory of Fripp Island, SC, Melissa Beason Vacek and husband Greg of Concord, NC, Allison Beason Harris and husband Kevin of Harrisburg, NC, Aaron Beason of Washington, D.C., and Adam Beason and wife Mandy of Dallas, TX; five great-grandchildren, Grier, Brendan, and Marett Vacek, Aydenn and Owen Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Jesse Frank Morris of Campobello, SC.

Funeral Service will be held at 2pm Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman with Jonathan Everette officiating. Private interment will be in Fairforest Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends following the service at Seawright Funeral Home.
