Joyce Helen Edwards Kuykendall, 94, of 140 Scoggins Road, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021, at her residence. Joyce was born in Swain County, North Carolina on January 21, 1927, a daughter of the late George Edwards and Nanny Simmons Edwards. She was the widow of William Winston Kuykendall. Mrs. Kuykendall was a former food industry employee and of the Baptist faith.
Joyce is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Turner, of Rutherfordton, North Carolina;
Yvonne Richards and her husband, Randy, of Woodruff, South Carolina; a son,Jack Carr, of Georgia; and a sister, Ima Jean Edwards, of Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Joyce is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Scotty, Chad, Lisa, Denise, Ray Lorraine, Justine, Amanda, James, Teddy, Angie, Billy and Michael; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kuykendall was predeceased by a son, Teddy Edwards, and two grandsons, Jack Carr, Jr. and Junior Arnold.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
