Joyce Clayton, 81, of 325 Farms Bridge Road, Inman, passed away Saturday, September 8th, at Greenvillle Memorial Hospital.
Joyce was born in Valdosta, GA on August 24, 1937, a daughter of the late Lucy Hutchinson Stanford and Rivus Payne Stanford and was the wife of Randall Clayton who survives her of the home.
She retired as a librarian at San Bernardino Law Library in California. She was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church where she was a member of the Sanctuary Sunday School Class, Tweenagers, and enjoyed working in the church library. She had also been a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Myra Leone (Joe) of San Jose, CA, Patricia Blackwell (Randy) of Taylors, a son, Phillip Clayton (Mary Barbara) of Virginia Beach, VA, three sisters, Melba Mathis of Perry, GA, Judy Carney of Hattiesburg, MS, Shirley Blankenship of Monroe, GA, a brother, Jack Stanford of Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Clayton, Zebadiah Blackwell, Jordan Blackwell, Jacob Clayton, Savannah Leone, Shelby Leone, and Nathaniel Clayton.
The family is at the home and will receive friends 10:00 until 11:15 Friday, September 14, 2018 at Holly Springs Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 am with Dr. Tim Clark officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church, Renovation Fund, 251 Hannon Road, Inman, SC 29349.
