Joyce Ann Satterfield Howard

Joyce Ann Satterfield Howard, 86, went to be with our Heavenly father on October 11, 2026. And with perfect sight and mind, she saw again the love of her life, her husband, William Howard. What a joyous moment that had to be. A graduate of Greer High School, Joyce also graduated from North Greenville Junior College and Limestone College with Honors. As the wife of Rev. Howard, Joyce undertook many roles in his many churches while rearing three children. Joyce worked for the South Carolina Department of Social Services as a case worker before being diagnosed with Ocular Histoplasmosis, an eye condition that left her legally blind. Even though she could not work any longer, she still continued to garden, cook and help care for her grandchildren and husband in his later years. 

Joyce is predeceased by her parents, Harold Satterfield, Sr. and Ruth Satterfield. Her siblings, Bonnie Mae Satterfield, Harold Satterfield, Jr., Louis Satterfield and Frances Vaughan, all of Greer, South Carolina. Her beloved husband, William Howard and son-in-law, Danny Breitenbach of Spartanburg, South Carolina. Joyce is survived by sisters, Connie Hawkins, Jeri Glenn and Kathy Sudduth of Greer, South Carolina. Joyce is survived by her children, Kim Breitenbach of Cowpens, South Carolina (special friend, John Moss), Sharon Walker (Mike), of Bessemer, Alabama and Todd Howard (Libby) of Lake Greenwood. Joyce was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, South Carolina. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral chapel with Dr. Darryl Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29303.
