Mrs. Josie Morton Sawyer
Mrs. Josie Lee Brown (Morton) Sawyer, 90, of 63 Blackstock Road, Inman, formerly of 201 Edwards Rd. Inman went home to be with her Lord Friday, November 12th, 2010 at Magnolia Manor of Inman.
Mrs. Sawyer was born in Inman, SC on February 18, 1920, the daughter of the late Levi and Polly (Morgan) Brown. She was the widow of Donald Collins Sawyer and was first married to the late Algie Durham Morton.
She is survived by 1 daughter: Elaine Huntley and husband Steve of Inman, 1 son: Jimmy L Morton and wife Barbara of Cherryville, NC, 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 sons: Bobby Algie Morton, Samuel Fred Morton and a brother: Barney Brown.
She retired as a Supervisor at Spartanburg Convalescent Center and Mt. View Nursing Home and was a member of Lake Bowen Baptist Church
The family is at the home of her daughter Elaine Huntley, 201 Edwards Rd., Inman, and will receive friends Sunday 2:30 - 3:30 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at the Seawright Funeral Chapel, Inman, SC at 3:30 PM on Sunday, November 14th, with Rev Gary Hensley and Rev Mark Williams officiating.
Burial will be at Lake Bowen Baptist Church Cemetery, Inman, SC.
