Joshua Drayton " Junior" Melton Jr.

Joshua Drayton "Junior" Melton, Jr., 82, of Wellford, SC, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at his residence. 

Junior was born in Cherokee County, on December 7, 1941, a son of the late Catherine (Teal) and Joshua Drayton "J.D." Melton, Sr. He was the widower of Linda Kay (Tipton) Melton. His survivors include a daughter, Dena Sims and her husband Jeff; four grandchildren, Whitney Dodd, Cody Sims, Will Sims (Hannah), and Justin Sims (Katelind); two great grandchildren, Paxton Walker and Dawson Plumley; two brothers, Dupree Melton (Barbara) and Jimmy Melton (Pat); and several special nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Brenda Skipper.

He was a member of Little Mountain Baptist Church and was a longtime employee with Melton's Used Cars.

Funeral services will be Monday, August 26, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home, with Rev. Doug Godfrey officiating. Visitation will follow the service at Seawright Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
