Josephine Huggins Thomas, 78, of Spartanburg went home with her Lord and Savior Sunday, August 10th, 2014.
She was born in Inman on June 21, 1936,a daughter of the late Jospeh Melvin and Lillie Mae Reeves Huggins. She enjoyed serving her Lord at Green Point Baptist Church in Inman.
She is survived by a daughter, Teresa T. Cox and her husband Harold of Spartanburg, two sisters, Linda Gail Huggins of Inman, Vickie Fernandez of Oregon, her fiance', Larry Beckley of Taylors, a close friend whom she loved like a daughter, Lisa Burnett Kirby, and her grandpuppy, Bunny. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Michael Thomas and a sister, Mary Beckley.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 3:00 PM conducted by Dr. David Lancaster in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. The family wishes to send a special thanks to Emma Lawing, RN from Piedmont Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Piedmont Hospice, 209-A Riverside Ct. Greer, SC 29650 or Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
