Josephine Mamie (Nanie Jo) Berry, 84, of 425 S. Church St. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 18, 2013. Born in Bennettsville, SC on April 27, 1928, the daughter of the late Mamie (Cantrell) and Wylie Freeman and was the wife of the late Mr. Thomas Daniel Berry.
Mrs. Berry was a member of Cannon's Camp Ground United Methodist Church where she served in the Belle Sprouse Sunday School Class and was retired from Hoechst Celanese.
She is survived by three sons, Wayne Daniel Berry (Gloria) of Midlothian, Va., Furman Allen Berry of Cowpens and Ronnie Dale Berry of Chesnee, SC; one brother, Ernest Freeman (Betty) of Florida; 8 grandchildren, Jeffrey Berry, Keisha Williams (Chris), Melissa Berry, Steve Berry, Wayne Berry II, Rose Ann Parker, Kathy Simonton, and Eric Ruppe; 13 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Wyatt, Alexis, Danielle, Nicholas, Ali, Justin, Kyle, Kala, Brandon, Brittani, Kaitlyn and Austin and one great-great granddaughter, Natalie. She was predeceased by one daughter, Norma Jean Berry and three brothers and three sisters.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 19, 2013 from 6-8PM at Seawright Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at Cannon's Camp Ground United Methodist Church in Spartanburg, SC, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 20, 2013 with Rev. Mac Kinnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Spartanburg, SC.
