Joseph Edward (Joe) Aenchbacher, 69, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Born in Spartanburg County on March 7, 1956, he was the son of the late Helen Emerson (Goodwin) Aenchbacher and Carl Emerson Aenchbacher, Jr.
Joe worked for over 20 years as the facilities steward at Inman First Baptist Church. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy was an Eagle Scout and Former Inman Mills Troop 26 Scoutmaster. Joe was in scouting in Inman Mills for over 50 years. He started in Cub Scouts Pack 26 then crossed over into Troop 26 where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He went on to be an Assistant Scoutmaster then into the Scoutmaster roll for many years. He decided to step away from that position and retired as Scoutmaster on December 15, 2013. He remained with the troop for several years after that and after his 50 year anniversary left scouting completely. Joe assisted in several young men earning their Eagle Scout rank.
Joe is survived by one brother, David Aenchbacher; two sisters, Laura Aenchbacher Brewer and Carol Aenchbacher Smith along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and one sister, Marsha Gregory.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Good Shepherd Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, South Carolina with Dr. Paul Moore officiating. Military Honors will be provided by Boiling Springs Post 200. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
