Johnny Edward Burnette, 73, of 4605 Belton Highway, Anderson, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Anmed Health. Johnny was born in Canton, N.C. on April 14, 1944, a son of the late Wilson and Savannah Metcalf Burnette; and was the widower of Barbara Perry Burnette. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and had worked as a rep in auto parts. He was a member of Inman First Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons; Chad Burnette (Jennifer) of Lyman, Eric Burnette (Caroline) of Inman, a daughter; Kim Burnette (CJ Mitchell) of Morganton, NC, a sister; Judy Abel (Doug) of Canton, NC, a brother; Bruce Burnette of Canton, NC, a nephew; Michael Abel, and three grandchildren; Madelyn, Aron, and Shelbi. Funeral services, followed by military honors, will be held at Seawright Funeral Home at 3:00 PM on Friday, February 23rd, with Pastor Jeff Hickman officiating. Private interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Friday following the service at Seawright Funeral Home.
