John Hampton (Johnny) Bolt of Boiling Springs passed away August 18, 2011. Born October 13, 1950, Mr Bolt was the son of the late Pearl Carter and Omer Miller Bolt and was the husband of Donna Connelly Bolt. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Laura Catherine and her husband Douglas Brooks of Belton, SC, two sisters Cindy Bonds of Joanna, SC and Patricia Watson of Clinton, SC. A graduate of Clinton High School, Newberry College and the University of South Carolina, he worked 28 years as a band director at Chapman(Inman, SC) and Riverside High Schools. He also served seven years with the South Carolina National Guard. Mr Bolt was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he had served as a teacher for the Upper Room Sunday School Class. A memorial service will be conducted by Pastor Mike Shackelford at St John's Lutheran Church, 415 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC on Sunday, August 21 at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St John's Lutheran Church-PLC Fund, 415 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302 or Newberry College Music Department, 2100 College Street, Newberry, SC 29108.
