Johnathan Ryan Dodd, 28, of 572 South Sunflower Way, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Johnathan was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on July 5, 1989. Mr. Dodd was a 2007 graduate of Chapman High School, a Christian and a former employee of Burnett Lime Company. Johnathan was very proud of his accomplishments as a spokesman and advocate for the technological advancement for the Charles Lea Center.
Johnathan is survived by his mother and step-father, Leann Burnett Sherbert and Darrell Sherbert of Inman, South Carolina; his father, Darrell Dodd of Inman, South Carolina; maternal grandparents, Wade and JoAnn Burnett of Campobello, South Carolina; Paternal grandparents, David and Brenda Dodd of Inman, South Carolina, a step-sister, Whitney Nicole Dodd and two step-brothers, Logan Dodd and Mason Mullis. The body will lie in state on Friday, September 8, 2017, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Seawright Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, September 8, 2017, at 2:00 PM conducted by Rev. Matthew Bishop. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Charles Lea Center, 195 Burdette Drive, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29307. The families are at their respective homes.
