John H. Smith, Jr., 92, of Whitestone, went to his eternal home March 14, 2015. He was born May 9, 1922 in Spartanburg County where he grew up and retired as a farmer after many years of tending to his family's land and livestock of Smith Dairy Farm. He was a graduate of Sptbg. High and Sptbg. Junior College. Mr. Smith was a member, and served as Deacon, at First Presbyterian Church of Sptbg. He was the son of the late J.H. Smith, Sr. and Norine Morrow Smith. He was predeceased by his brother Jones E. Smith. He is survived by his sisters Patricia M. Smith of Whitestone, Nora S. Tindall of Sptbg. and sister-in-law Betty B. Smith of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by nephew Michael A. Tindall (Dedra) of Gilbert, SC, niece Dina T. Cooksey (Wayne) of Boiling Springs, grandnieces Elizabeth C. Bryson of Inman, Natalie C. Lovelace (Josh) of Chesnee, three great-grandnieces and one great-grandnephew. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, March 21, 2015 conducted by Rev. Joanne R. Hull at Lebanon Cemetery in the Whitestone Community. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of your choice are requested. The family is at 220 Murph Road in the Whitestone Community and will receive friends following the service at the gravesite.
