John Thomas Pruitt, 84, of 5300 New Cut Rd,. Inman, SC, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum. John was born in Spartanburg, SC on July 7, 1930, a son of the late Hollis L and Eva Lee (Smith) Pruitt. He was the widower of Frances (Wright) Pruitt, was employed in maintenance for District One Schools and was a member of Inman First Baptist Church. John is survived by a son, Randy T. Pruitt (Sylvia), of Inman, SC, a sister, Virginia Miller, of Kings Mtn, NC; a brother, Jimmy E Pruitt, of Roebuck, 8 grandchildren, Christy Pruitt, Casey Pruitt, Odessa Nichols, Wesley Rogers, Henry Rogers, James Rogers, Jennifer Cox, Patty Robinson and 34 great grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. The familiy is at the home and will receive friends Sunday 3:00 — 5:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home. Graveside services with military honors will be held at Inman First Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 26th, with Rev Richard Scott officiating.
