John Alfred "Papa" Miller

John Alfred " Papa" Miller, 88, formerly of Honeysuckle Rd. went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 6th, 2010 at Skylyn Place in Spartanburg.
Mr. Miller was born in Woodruff, SC on June 12, 1921, the son of the late Birdie Cooke Miller.
He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Iris Greene Miller of Spartanburg.
Mr. Miller had retired from Cart Petroleum and was a member of First Baptist North Spartanburg. He served as a former deacon and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WW II. His hobbies consisted of raising, breeding and riding horses. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Sandy M. Henson and her husband J.D., Judy M. Lawson and her husband Ernie, Darla M. Thomas and husband Joe. There are eight grandchildren and thirteen great -grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Larry Wayne Miller who was the late husband of Dianne Workman Miller of Hilton Head Island.
Visitation for Mr. Miller will be held at Seawright Funeral Home on Friday, January 8, 2010 from 7-9 PM. A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at Seawright Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 9th, with Dr. Michael Hamlet officiating.
Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Full Military Rites. The family will be at 306 Wild Azalea Dr., Inman, SC 29349.
