Inman, SC-- John Robert McDade, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2016 after a brief illness. Born in Holly Springs, SC, he was the son of the late PA and Grace Johnson McDade. A 1951 graduate of the University of South Carolina, Mr. McDade served in the US Army and Reserves; and retired from the US Army Audit Agency at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and the Lewis Clayton Sunday School Class. He was a lifetime member of the Carolina Alumni Association and the National Association of Retired Federal Employee's Association. Survivors include nephews-- Arthur (Carolyn) Sellars of Lyman, Ronnie Johnson of Inman; nieces-- Deborah Sellars (Mike) McKinney of Duncan, Jodi McDade (Steve) Prosser of Oak Hill, VA, Joni McDade (Mike) Loftis of Inman; 11 great nieces and nephews; and 12 great-great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Joe McDade and sisters Wilma McDade Sellars and Etolia McDade Johnson. Services will be held at Holly Springs Baptist Church, 251 Hannon Road, Inman, on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Dr. Tim Clark officiating.
