John Mitchell Lankford, 49, of 120 Holden Acres Rd., passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 2nd 2013 at his residence. John was born in Woodruff, SC on June 26, 1964, and was a son of George Mitchell and Audrey Nell (Godfrey) Lankford of Woodruff, SC .He was the husband of Debra "Debbie" Ann (Burrell) Lankford and was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Landrum, SC and the Adult Sunday School Class. He was a graduate of Woodruff High School and was employed at BMW.
In addition to his parents and his wife are two daughters, Crystal Lankford and Amanda Lankford Loveridge and her husband Lance all of Inman and his grandson, Zachary "Noah" Loveridge. Amanda and Lance Loveridge are expecting another child Stephen Jayce. John was preceded in death by a brother, David Lankford.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5, 2013 in the Bible Baptist Church Sanctuary from 12:30 to 2:00PM. Funeral services will follow at 2PM with Rev. Tommy Turner, Rev. Michael Owenby and Rev. Carrol Caldwell officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John M. Lankford Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 192, Inman, SC 29349.
