John Mason Lanford, 85, of 130 Riverdale Drive Inman, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Woodruff, South Carolina on August 15, 1931, he was the son of the late Walter Gates Lanford and Rosa Lee Lanford and was the husband of the late Irene Royster Lanford.
Mr. Lanford was the Past Master at the Inman Masonic Lodge #201, a member of Milestones Church, served in the United States Airforce and was a retired truck driver with Spartan Express.
He is survived by a son, William Mason Lanford of Inman, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Stephen, Julie, Heather, Russell and Savannah and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also predeceased by one brother, Walter Gates Lanford, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, South Carolina, at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2016 with Rev. Hub Blankenship officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
