Inman, SC--Mr. John Dean High, 66, of 11 Littlejohn Street, Inman, SC passed away Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. High was born in Spartanburg, SC on March 7, 1942, the son of the late Charlie Bryant and Sue Ellen (Riddle) High who survives him of Wellford.
In addition to his mother he is survived by 2 daughters: Melissa Gant of Spartanburg, Chris Persons of Beauford, GA, 2 sons: Shannon High of Greer, Johnny High of Beauford, GA, 1 brother: Sam High of Wellford, 1 sister: Louise Cummings of Wellford, 1 step-grandson: Donnie Tolliver of Lyman, and 9 grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 sons: Tony High and Dewayne Strange.
He was the widower of Elsie (Strange) High, retired from Metromont Materials (Cemex) and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Spartanburg.
Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 6th, with Rev. Monty King officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
The family is at the home of a daughter: Melissa Gant, 1831 Nazareth Church Rd., Spartanburg, SC and will receive friends in the cemetery following the graveside service.
