Inman, SC---John Edward "Jack" Gragg, III, 82, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014, at home in Inman, SC. The Graggs were residents of Allouez, Wisconsin for over fifty years.
Jack was born September 10, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, the only child of the late John Edward Gragg, II and Marie Pettker Gragg who died when he was ten months old. Raised by his grandmother, Nell Constant Gragg, Jack followed in his fathers footsteps ,excelling in athletics at Grover Cleveland High School. He played football to please his father, but baseball was his passion! At Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, he pitched for the Commodores and post-college for Holland, Michigan Flying Dutchmen. He eventually taught and coached after a career in retail.
Like his dad, he was a Mason and a member of the Daylight Lodge # 360, the Washington Lodge # 21 and the Beja Shrine in Green Bay. He was president of the retired Men's Club of Green Bay from 2003 to 2004.
Survivors include his daughter Linelle (Mark) Lampman, two granddaughters, Emilee Cebelle Lampman and Megan Marie Larnpman, all of New Brighton, Minnesota; one niece Linda Cotton Wells of Taylors, SC, numerous great nieces and nephews and his special friend of twelve years, Gail Cordiy, formerly of Green Bay. Jack was predeceased by his wife of forty-eight years, Betty Lindberg Gragg and their son, John E. Gragg, TV.
Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Northeast Wisconsin Masonic Center, 525 N. Taylor St., Green Bay. The Memorial Service is open to the public and will begin at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will follow with private interment at Woodlawn Cemetery later Saturday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Shriner Hospitals for Children.
