John David "Big Dave" Edmondson, Jr., 50, of the Gramling Community passed away Wednesday, August 13th, 2014 at his home after a brief illness.
Dave was born in Spartanburg on December 9, 1963, a son of Vivian Cameron Edmondson and John David Edmondson, Sr. of Inman. In addition to his parents, Dave is survived by his wife, Beth, son Nathan, daughters, Elizabeth and Rebecca, sister Cathy Poland and her husband Rick, mother in law Carol Barton, and several loving nieces and nephews.
Dave was a graduate of Chapman High School and attended Clemson University. He was the owner and manager of Inman Hardware where he worked with his family for 35 years. He was a life-long athlete who loved watching his children become athletes. He was a faithful member of Gramling United Methodist Church and was active in Bible Study Fellowship in Boiling Springs.
Dave was an incredibly fun and loving husband and daddy, a loyal friend, a master fisherman, and a fisher of men. He had impeccable timing and always, always put a smile on everyone's face. His sense of humor is the stuff of legend among his family and friends. He wanted everyone to know and love Jesus Christ and often reminded us all to put God first. A celebration of Dave's life will be held at Gramling United Methodist Church, Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 2:00 PM conducted by Rev. Rebecca Wilkins with burial following in the church cemetery. The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday in the church sanctuary from 12:00 noon until 1:45 PM.
