Mr. John Charles Braun, 80, of 1905 Old Mill Rd. Campo bello, passed away, Friday, May 18th, 2007 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness.
Mr. Braun was born in Rochester, N.Y. on September 4, 1926, the son of the late John and Miriam (Kunder) Braun and was the husband of Betsy (Godley) Braun.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from R.G. & E in Rochester, NY. He was a member of Saint John's Catholic Church in Tryon, NC and was also a member of the Inman Community Fire Department.
In addition to his wife Betsy he is survived by two sisters-in-law Susan Lent and her husband Robert of Landrum, SC and Ethel Braun of Rochester, NY. along with 6 nephews Brian Lent of Landrum, Joe Braun of Indiana, Eric Braun of Minnesota and Gary Braun, Jack Braun and Alan Braun all of Rochester NY.
Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Home at 2PM on Monday, May 21st with Father Patrick Winslow officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Monday 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spartanburg County Humane Society 150 Dexter Rd. Spartanburg, SC 29301.
