Spartanburg, SC---Mr. John Dubose Brannon, Sr, 88, of 3038 N Blackstock Rd passed away Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010 at the Smith Phayer Hospice House in Landrum, SC.
Mr. Brannon was born near Boiling Springs, SC on November 25, 1921, the son of the late Wilbur Andrew and Ollie (High) Brannon. He was the husband of Margie Anna (Wofford) Brannon having celebrated more than 65 years of marriage. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
He retired as a millwright from Spartan Grain with over forty years of service and was a member of Westgate Baptist Church. He served as an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WW II.
Survivors include a daughter, Joanna Jones and her husband Keith of Greer, SC, a son John Brannon Jr. and his wife Kathy of Woodruff, SC , one granddaughter, five grandsons, one step grandson, nine great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Bonnie Brannon, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters and five brothers.
The family is at the home and will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at Seawright Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 25th, with Rev. Tony Seiber officiating.
Burial will be in Wood Memorial Park in Greer, S.C.
