John Newton Bishop, Sr

Inman, SC---Mr. John Newton Bishop, Sr. 76, of 621 Hwy 292, Inman passed away Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011 at the Spartanburg Hospital For Restorative Care.

Mr. Bishop was born in Inman, SC on November 11, 1934, the son of the late John Buford and Annie Lee (Martin) Bishop and was the husband of Garnett Ruth (Crabtree) Bishop.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 5 daughters: Tena B Kinard of Inman, Karen B Roland of Hanover, PA, Cheryl L Branshaw of Inman, Rhonda K Wall of Milwaukee, WI, Jennifer J Taylor of Moncks Corner, SC, one son: John N Bishop, Jr of Wellford, 9 grandchildren: Angela Bishop of Hollywood, FL, Jason Bishop(US Marine Corps) of Cherry Point, NC, Michael Wall and Angela Wall of Milwaukee, WI, Jacob Taylor, Daniel Taylor, Kaylyb Taylor and John H Taylor, all of Moncks Corner, SC, Tara Wall of Summerville, SC, 4 great grandchildren: Anna Belle Solvo of Summerville, Madison Floyd and David Floyd of Milwaukee, McKayla Wall of Inglesberg, Texas. Mr Bishop was predeceased by a granddaughter: Bayley Taylor and a brother Robert E. Bishop.
He retired from Inman-Campobello Water District, was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church, served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force and 7 years in the Naval Reserve and was a member of the Inman American Legion Post #45.

The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 27 at 2:00 PM at the Seawright Funeral Chapel with Rev Skip Snyder and Rev Robin Griffeth officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC.
