Joey Marvin Atkins, 59, of 571 Gramling School Road Inman, passed away Thursday, August 18th, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Joey was born in Spartanburg, on August 5, 1957, a son of Mamie Brown Atkins and the late Marvin Atkins. He was the husband of Susan Hall Atkins.
He was retired from International Wire and was a member of First Baptist Church of Gowansville.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons; Joseph Atkins (Nathan) of Charlotte, Casey Atkins (Olena) of Inman, a brother; Michael C. Atkins of Gowansville, a sister; Martha Jean Turner of Rock Hill, three grandchildren; Seth, Anya, Andy, four nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Gowansville at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 20th, with Dr Reggie Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family is at the home and will receive friends following the committal service in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Children and Youth Ministries at Holston Creek Baptist Church 311 Holston Creek Church Rd Inman, SC 29349.
