Joe Powell Moon

Joe Powell Moon, 90, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Lexington, North Carolina on October 24, 1935, he was the son of Leander Terry Moon and Mary Lois Powell Moon and was the husband of the late Evelyn Bradley Moon.

Joe was a graduate of Chapman High School "Class of 1955", member of Inman Mills Baptist Church where he served in the Seekers of Souls Sunday School Class and retired from Inman Mills after 40 years of service.

He is survived by five nieces, Joan Jolley and her husband Don, Susan Moon, Jill Settle, Sherry Moon and Lindsay Driggers and her husband David; three nephews, Ricky Moon and his wife Ruth, Scott Moon and his wife Maryann and Erik Bradley and his wife Crystal; one brother, Max Moon; one sister-in-law, Linda Hinson along with many great nieces and great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also predeceased by one brother, Bill Moon; one brother-in-law, Allen Bradley and three sister-in-laws, Shirley Moon, Peggy Moon and Gladys Ann Bradley.

A cryptside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Travis Smith officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Chapman High School "Class of 1955" and the Seekers of Souls Sunday School Class.
