Joe Carson McMillin, 90, formerly of Brookwood Drive, Inman passed away Friday, April 27th, 2018.
Joe was born in Spartanburg on September 26, 1927, a son of the late Jesse and Sally Carson McMillin and was the husband of Jeanette Radford McMillin with over 63 years of marriage.
He retired as co-owner at Wilkins-McMillin Lumber Company in Inman and was a member of Inman First Baptist Church where he served as deacon, a member of the finance committee, buildings and grounds committee, and was a member of the Goodwill Sunday School Class.
Joe served his country honorably in the US Army during the Korean War and was held Prisoner Of War for 28 months in Korea. He was a member of American Legion Post 45, V.F.W., and Inman Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Joey McMillin (Kim), of Inman; a sister, Sara Trout of Inman; two grandchildren, Joseph McMillin (Caroline) of Inman, and Samantha McMillin (Jacob) of Inman. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by four sisters and four brothers.
The family is at the son's home at 210 Overlake Drive and will receive friends Monday 2:00 until 3:00 PM in the atrium of Inman First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held in the church sanctuary at 3:00 PM on Monday, April 30th, with Dr Paul Moore and Rev. Ron Jackson officiating. Burial with full military honors by Rutherford County Honor Guard will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman.
