Joe Ray Mahaffey

Wellford, SC---Joe Ray Mahaffey, 76, of 175 Barnwell Drive Wellford, SC, passed away Friday, June 20th, at Lake Emory Acute Care in Inman. Born in Spartanburg, SC on September 26, 1937, he was the son of the late Fannie (Lee ) and Walter Mahaffey and was the husband of Mrs. Edith Mahaffey. Mr. Mahaffey was a member of Trilogy Christian Fellowship Church and worked in construction.

In addition to his wife, Edith he is survived by a son, Kenneth Ray Mahaffey and his wife Pat of Wellford, SC; a daughter, Brenda Pruitt (Kenneth Stacey) of Inman, SC; three brothers, TJ Mahaffey, Alan Mahaffey, Jim Mahaffey; three grandchildren, Craig Pruitt, April Byrd and Dwayne Mahaffey and six great-grandchildren, Joseph Mahaffey, Lucus Mahaffey, Jason Mahaffey, Kayla Byrd, Jacob Byrd and Ava Pruitt. He was predeceased by two brothers, Jack Mahaffey and Troy Mahaffey.

The family will receive friends at Seawright Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM on Monday, June 23, 2014. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joe Miller officiating. Burial will be in New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery.
