Joann Cantrell Stewart Penfield, 80, of 242 Wolfe Lane, Inman, SC, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Joann was born in Cooley Springs, SC on December 9, 1933, a daughter of the late Mary (Page) Cantrell and Lee Cantrell. She was the wife of Rev James Penfield and was first married to the late Truman Boyd Stewart. She retired from Mack Molding and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Landrum, SC.
Joann is survived by a daughter, Frances Ann Brock, of Rock Hill, SC; three sons Mike Stewart, of Inman; Hydrick Stewart, of Boiling Springs; Ricky Cantrell, of Inman; three step daughters, Rachel Batch, of Landrum; Rebecca Jackson, of Williamston, SC; Sarah Penfield, of Landrum, two sisters, Sylvia Mosley, of Boiling Springs; Sarah Wilson, of Spartanburg; a brother, Bernard Cantrell, of Chesnee. SC, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren. The family is at the home of her son Hydrick, 213 David Koon Dr, Boiling Springs. Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Landrum, SC, at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 14th, 2014 with Rev Lynn Stewart and Rev James Penfield officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-2PM at the church prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman, SC.
