Jimmy Burkett Berry, 88, of 300 Plainview Drive, Lyman, SC, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024 at his residence. Jimmy was a committed follower of Jesus Christ and he is now experiencing the promise and joy of Heaven.

Jimmy was born in Prentiss, Mississippi on March 26, 1935, a son of the late Sara Nora (Jones) Berry and Albert Burkett Berry.

He was the husband of Barbara Ann (Sprinkle) Berry.
He retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years of dedicated service and was a member of Inman First Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, deacon and on several other committees. Jimmy was also a former member of the Inman Lion's Club.

In addition to his wife, Jimmy is survived by two sons Ken Berry and his wife, Cheryl, of Inman, South Carolina; Michael Berry and his wife, Kathy, of LaGrange, Kentucky, four grandchildren, Erica Coates (Adam), Casey Berry, Emily Glass (Brian) and Kimberly Dunn (Jacob); six great-grandchildren, Sam Coates, Kate Coates, Natalie Coates, Andy Glass, Ethan Dunn and Cayde Dunn.


The family is at his home and will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Seawright Funeral Home.


A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Chapel with Dr. Paul Moore officiating.


In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cheerios of Inman First Baptist Church, 14 N. Howard Street, Inman, SC  29349.
