Jimmie "Ray" Collins, 76, of Inman passed away peacefully on May 28, 2022 at his home. Ray was born on October 27, 1945 in Spartanburg, SC , a son of the late Carl Blaine Collins and Lois Shelton Collins. He leaves behind his devoted and loving wife of 49 years, Sandra Collins, his beloved daughters, Jennifer Collins Dodd (Shawn) and Kristy Collins Fowler (Chris) and grandchildren, Carly Rae Blackston , Olivia Melissa Dodd, Jack Collins Fowler, Logen and Jorden Fowler and Chas Dodd, Ray is also survived by 5 siblings, , Barb Switzer (Dennis), Ronnie Collins (Cherrie), Sandy Brzowski, Bruce Collins, Donnie Collins (Sherry), a sister-in-law, Cathy Collins and numerous nephews and nieces whom he loved very much. In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by a daughter Melissa Rae Collins Blackston and a brother Wayne Collins.
Ray was a retired truck driver having started as a teenager in the family business. He was the true definition of a hard worker, spending decades traveling all over the country in order to provide the best life for his family. He had a love for Corvettes, 18 wheelers, horse racing and music. He could sit for hours outside on the porch listening to his favorite tunes. He was fun loving, witty and had a nickname for just about everyone. Ray was a devoted father and family man. The love he had for his family was immeasurable. The importance of family and strong values  were things he instilled in all three of his daughters. He loved to give hugs and kisses on each cheek. Boy will we miss those. Ray will be missed by all who loved him. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank  you to Agape Hospice for their amazing care and compassion, especially Lina, Lynda and Candace.
The family is at his home and will receive friends Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 10:00 - 10:45 AM at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM conducted by Apostle Willie Rookard.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Agape Hospice, 123 Dillon Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
