James Oliver "Jim" Green, 80, of 14 Doe Circle, Inman, SC, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at his home. Mr. Green was born in West Point, Mississippi on October 31, 1934, a son of the late William Oliver and Margaret Ann (Johnson) Green. He was the husband of Lynda Carole (Slaughter) Green for over 55 years. Jim was a retired building contractor and was of the baptist faith. He also served his country in the US Army in the Korean War.
Survivors include three daughters, Lalia Taylor and her husband Michael of Startex, SC, Debi Close and her husband Billy of Inman, SC, Amy Bradley and her husband Scott of Greer, SC. a son, James D. Green and his wife Phyllis of Huddleston, VA. a sister, Margaret Ann Cunningham, of West Point, MS and a brother, John Edward Green, of Spring Hill, TN. There are five grandchildren, Dustin Taylor (Amber), Hunter Taylor (Cheyenne), Avery Bradley (Tiffany), Lyndi Bradley (Jake) and Jess Green and two great grandchildren, Polly Willow Taylor and Makenzie Mae Taylor.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 9:30 - 10:30 AM at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM in Seawright Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Ronald Taylor. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Inman, SC with full military honors rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will be at their respective homes.
