Jesse Lawrence Morrow

Jesse Lawrence Morrow, 88, of Inman, South Carolina, passed away on August 3, 2025. A lifelong resident of Inman, he was the son of the late Dr. Samuel J. Morrow and Jessie Lawrence Morrow. Lawrence was a devoted lifelong member of Inman First Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon, taught Sunday School, and served on nearly every committee the church had to offer. He was also an active member of his community, having served on the Inman Lions Club, the Spartanburg County Library Board, the Spartanburg County School Board, and the United States Draft Board. Lawrence dedicated over 40 years of his life to Inman Mills as Director of Human Resources and remained a proud Wofford Terrier. He was a member of the inaugural graduating class of Chapman High School in 1955.

Lawrence is survived by his wife Hilda Howard Morrow and two daughters, Lauren Morrow Brown and husband James Todd Brown of Inman, South Carolina and Ginger Morrow McGuire and husband Scott McGuire of Campobello, South Carolina, 4 grandchildren, Drayton Melton, Henry McGuire, Kirby Brown, and Scarlett McGuire. Lawrence was predeceased by his parents and brother Jerone Morrow.

Services will be held at Inman First Baptist Church on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 3:00 PM, conducted by Dr. Paul Moore. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 to 2:45 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Inman First Baptist Church Food Pantry in his honor. Pallbearers will be Todd Brown, Dan McNamara, Jeff Sumner, Todd LeMaster, Jamie LeMaster, David Dempsey, and Lawrence Adkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Gaines, Ben Gramling, Joe Fox, and Sam Raney.

Lawrence will be remembered and missed for his steadfast commitment to faith, education, community service and love for his family.
