Jesse Richard "JR" Ford

Jesse Richard "JR" Ford, 86, of 5 Orchard Lane in Inman, passed away Saturday, May 16th, at Spartanburg Medical Center.

JR was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on September 29, 1939, a son of the late Mary Evelyn Ballenger Ford and George Christopher Ford. He was the husband of Rosa Lee Hollifield Ford of the home.

He retired from Springs Industries in Lyman and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Inman. He served in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a son; Jeffrey Scott Ford, three sisters; Christine Drake, Ann Parker, Nancy Fowler, two brothers; Jerry Ford, Chester Ford, and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by several siblings.

A Memorial Service will be held 3:30 PM on Friday, May 22nd at Liberty Baptist Church in Inman with Dr. David Duncan officiating.

Burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens in Boiling Springs at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026.

While the family appreciates the calls, cards, and flowers, they request that in lieu of these, that memorials be made to the funeral home to help offset the cemetery charges for his burial.
