Jerry "Dip" Matheson
Mrs. Jerry D "Dip" Matheson, 73, formerly of Inman died Thursday, October 28th, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Greenville, SC on May 5, 1937, the daughter of the late James Kenneth Matheson and Geraldine (Jones) Andrews.Her stepfather was the late Horace Andrews.
Survivors include two sisters, Robin A. Davis of Inman, Candy A. Johnson of Daytona Beach, Florida, and a brother, Horace Hugh Andrews of Inman. She graduated from Inman High School in 1955. Affectionately known as "Dip", she had no children of her own but was like a mother to about 80 Inman kids who called themselves the "hangouters". They hung out at her house in the late 60's and early 70's. Although these people are now in their 50's and 60's, they have many fond memories and are certainly saddened by her passing.
The family will receive friends this evening, Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman, SC.
A "Celebration of Life" memorial service will be held at 8:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel immediately after the visitation. An online guest register is available at: www.seawright-funeralhome.com
